2006-09-14 [Eggs Maledict]: What, if any, is the word limit?

2006-09-14 [The Dizzy Raven]: word limit? none whatsoever. ^_^ Just keep it like it would be as a prologue. That's all I'm asking for at the moment.

2006-09-25 [Eggs Maledict]: Hmm..."Just keep it like it would be as a prologue." What does this mean? *Shifty eyes* It's jargon I'm not really familiar with...

2006-09-25 [The Dizzy Raven]: Ahhhh...okay. You know how usually the length of a prologue would be? That's how long I want it or shorter

2006-11-14 [dmeredith]: This one's not exactly bursting with entrants, do you have any plans to extend the dealine? In terms of your slang prohibition I assume you are excluding dialog, or do you expect our characters to use King James Bible English?

2006-11-15 [The Dizzy Raven]: *shrugs* I know the deadline needs lengthened. lol. And dialogue doesn't have to be Old English either. Think in terms of how the dialogue is with LOTR. ^_^ Quite medieval and the use of slang is limited to a certain extent. like in using "wouldn't", "don't" etc. I am sorry if this is causing a problem.

2006-11-15 [dmeredith]: Those are contractions, not slang BTW, and if I might make so bold, I think it's honestly an unnecessary prohibition. There's an awful lot of fantasy that uses slang quite effectively, particularly in dialog. I know all our old English teachers drilled into our heads "no contractions", "never use contractions". I'm there with you on the narritive, but within the dialog itself the rules can be bent in the name of creativity, I think. The dialog in LOTR works for LOTR, but given a different setting and different characters it might not be appropriate. Just a thought.

2006-11-16 [The Dizzy Raven]: I see what you mean

2006-11-22 [Duhe Rahn]: May I send a few sample paragraphs to someone in order to see whether my writing is suitable?

2006-11-22 [The Dizzy Raven]: I don't have anyone who is assigned to do such, but I should make someone available on the wiki itself. I'm a fantasy writer, so i should be able to see what is acceptable, but also the regulations concerning the content of the writing is going to change, for I am reading the book "Eragon". I believe that few of the rules i have can decease.

2006-11-23 [Duhe Rahn]: Then I shall send you the sample?

2006-11-24 [The Dizzy Raven]: of course. ^^

2006-12-17 [Danboo]: what about romance?

2006-12-18 [The Dizzy Raven]: oops! XD you can have romance but it has to be pg-13 like ^^

2006-12-18 [Danboo]: ummm...explain further please

2006-12-18 [The Dizzy Raven]: like...there can't be any 'sex' crap. lol. I don't want nudity
